Last week the Spanish writer Nando L\u00f3pez came to our High School IESO Quercus. Before the encounter our teacher told us that she had seen a play based on Titus Andronicus of William Shakespeare adapted by Nando L\u00f3pez. Then we decided to investigate. What is Titus Andronicus about and why did Nando Lopez choose this tragedy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Titus Andronicus is one the hardest and goriest tragedy of Shakespeare. Titus Andronicus returns from war with four prisoners who wants to take revenge against him. They rape and mutilate Titus’ daughter. Titus kills two of them (Quiron and Demetrius) and cooks them into a pie, which he serves to their mother before killing her too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nando L\u00f3pez chose this tragedy because the topics are the same as 21st century, especially the gender violence, even increasing nowadays. He wants the audience think about these serious topics. As the SDG 5 says, gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. That’s why we are working this SDG for the magazine Sapere Aude this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
